Debilitating Conditions
Qualifying patients must be diagnosed with a debilitating condition
The Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Program Act allows patients with certain qualifying conditions to obtain a medical cannabis registry card after a physician uploads a healthcare provider certification to the Illinois cannabis tracking system (ICTS).
Here's a list of all current qualifying conditions:
Chronic Pain:
- Chronic pain that is severe and debilitating, despite treatment attempts with traditional medication.
- This can include conditions like:
- Arthritis
- Back pain
- Nerve pain
- Migraines
Serious Medical Conditions:
- Cancer
- HIV/AIDS
- Hepatitis C
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Crohn's disease
- Multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
- Glaucoma
- Epilepsy
- Parkinson's disease
Mental Health Conditions:
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Other Qualifying Conditions:
- Agitation of Alzheimer's disease
- Anorexia nervosa
- Arnold-Chiari malformation
- Cachexia/wasting syndrome
- Causalgia
- Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy
- Complex regional pain syndrome Type II (CRPS)
- Dystonia
- Ehlers-Danlos syndrome
- Fibromyalgia (severe)
- Fibrous dysplasia
- Hydrocephalus
- Hydromyelia
- Interstitial cystitis
- Lupus
- Muscular dystrophy
- Myasthenia gravis
- Myoclonus
- Nail-patella syndrome
- Neurofibromatosis
- Neuropathy
- Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
- Reflex sympathetic dystrophy
- Residual limb pain
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Seizures (including those characteristic of Epilepsy)
- Sjögren's syndrome
- Spinal cord disease (including but not limited to arachnoiditis)
- Spinal cord injury with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity
- Spinocerebellar ataxia
- Superior Canal Dehiscence syndrome
- Tarlov cysts
- Tourette syndrome
- Traumatic brain injury
- Ulcerative colitis
- Any opioid prescribed condition
